Rooted in Dr. Gholdy Muhammad’s framework of cultivating genius, our research supports learning experiences that affirm students’ identities and center joy, intellect, skill, and criticality in math classrooms.

The Data Warriors research team, led by Dr. Nicole Fonger, includes undergraduate and graduate students spanning many disciplines at Syracuse University. Centering participatory approaches to research, Data Warriors youth are also often included as members of the research team and coauthors on publications.
