Youth-Led Research Posters

Data Warriors created posters sharing the outcomes of their processes of statistical investigation. Youth asked questions, gathered or curated data, analyzed data with 2 visuals, answered their question, and made recommendations for change. orsmall group mentoring by SU They submitted posters to the American Statistical Association.

ArcGIS Online Maps

At the Data Warriors and Statistics Class field trip to SU in March 2025, Lauren Ashby led students in learning how to use ArcGIS to create personalized maps. Students created maps of lead poisoning, code violations, vacant housing, and racial demographics. Many students embedded these maps into their Posters. Students also visited the SU Maps room in Bird Library.

Belonging in Mathematical Community Paper

Data Warrior leader Stephen Caviness led the team in co-authoring a paper for mathematics teachers focused. Our paper centers youth voice in describing the ways our instructional practices cultivate a sense of belonging in a mathematical community.
